The Story of SACRED JOURNEY - from Jo Kelly
I’ve been singing all my life but my true musical heart was untouched until I went to India. I spent blissful time in the ashram of my guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar where I practiced yoga and meditation, danced and sang in the temple and learned how to find my true joyful self again. After a time I yearned for the sacred mountains and as I heard them calling I began my pilgrimage to the Himalayas. I fell in love with this divine healing land; the beautiful sounds, exotic instruments and classical mantras that touched my heart and helped me find inner peace and contentment. So profound was my experience that it inspired me to write Himalaya a song which later won the NCEIA Dolphin Music Award for best song adult contemporary.
Since India my singing blossomed into a love affair with sacred mantra and Indian classical music and I created Cafe Mantra Music for yoga and meditation. This album is a celebration of the mantras I’ve learned and songs that have emerged over the past 10 years of my Sacred Journey

Letting love in, bringing in this feeling to my heart Letting love in, into my heart
Giving in giving out giving back, letting it flow
You gotta give it to receive it then it flows forevermore Don’t be distracted by superficial pleasures
Find the most cherish moments, then let it be Letting Love In
Nothing more, nothing more real, more important than letting it flow.
You gotta give it to receive it then it flows forevermore. Love reaches in, the circle is complete
Find the joy and delight then let it be
Letting Love In
Tr 8: Himalaya
Morning dawns I’m in her arms
River roars, the mountains’ calm
I travelled far when I heard the calling Humble prayer that we be healed And the path to be revealed
A pass to climb for higher truth
Himalaya, Himalaya is calling
And the river, and the river is roaring
From the source to the seeker. Himalayaaaaa.
I feel alive in wilderness
Natures’ breath is nourishment
She fills my cup with freedom
As I leave the riverside
My journey climbs to mountains high I see a wider vision
Himalaya, Himalaya is calling
And the river, and the river is roaring From the source to the seeker
The moon shines brighter
My vision’s wider
As I climb higher, for higher truth She hands a gift to those who seek In solitude no need to speak
Walk the earth to hear the teacher
Himalaya, Himalaya is calling
And the river, and the river is roaring
From the source to the seeker. Himalayaaaaa.
